With another semester of graduate school completed, I felt that it was time to refocus on the first “available” weekend. That weekend just so happened to also be a #25inFive Readathon weekend.

The last #25inFive Readathon that I participated in was back in August. This month’s Readathon goal was to beat August’s total. Did I do it?
Here are my stats for the December 2018 #25inFive:
Thursday, December 13 – 30 minutes
- Continued reading Americanah for NCTE Winter Book Club Café
Friday, December 14 – 40 minutes
- Continued reading Americanah
Saturday, December 15 – 2 hours
- Recorded the following chapters of Lord of the Flies
- Continued reading Americanah
Sunday, December 16 – 1 hour and 20 minutes
- Recorded the following chapters of Lord of the Flies
- Continued reading Americanah
Monday, December 17
- No time for reading. 🙁
- Note to self for 2019: Make/find more time for reading
Total – 4 hours and 30 minutes / 25 hours
While I did not accomplish my goal of breaking August’s total, I gave it a try and am transparent about it. I feel as though it is better to note my progress for reference than to not post. Looking forward to making more progress on the next Readathon!
Do you participate in any Readathons besides #25inFive? If so, let me know!
Happy Reading!
Well done on reading that much – I’m a teacher too so I know how hard it can be to find the time! I managed 21 and a bit hours this year, but it did start on my last day of term…
Thank you! Trying to balance the workload of teaching with family, life, and everything else in between is tough. Finding the time to read is a goal for 2019 for sure. Happy Reading!
