While perusing 2 Dandelions Bookshop in downtown Brighton, MI, I saw the words “emo” and “mainstream” put together on the book title – Where Are Your Boys Tonight: The Oral History of Emo’s Mainstream Explosion 1999-2008.
My wife kindly pointed out to me that the title of the book was a nod to one of Fall Out Boy’s songs. I had no idea. She is more of an emo fan than I. My deep cut musical knowledge is Classic Rock. Emo music was a favorite of mine during my middle and high school years.
While I didn’t buy the Chris Payne’s book, it’s been added to my TBR.
I did also feel a little old that 1999-2008 was now considered a time in history, but I digress.
