We are over a week out from the end of the 2023-2024 school year! Summer break has begun. Before we get too far into the break, I wanted to share out seven takeaways from the 2023-2024 school year.
This blog post is inspired by a handful of 10th grade students. During the final week of classes they were working on an Unboxing Project where they had to highlight the five most important things they learned or experienced throughout the course. A few asked me what I learned this year. I told them that I would jot down a few things to share on Exam Day when we watched the unboxing videos.
The list is not in any order and is from the experiences I had as an English teacher of 9th and 10th grade students, collaborator on several MTSS committees for the building and district, and active participant in the English department.
I may refer back to these in future blog posts, but I just wanted to document them while the school year is still fresh on my mind.
