Back to School Thoughts – 2020-2021

To me, the beginning of August is the signal that school is on the horizon. The school year is within reach and closer than the beginning of summer.

A lot is up in the air with the 2020-2021 school year and the future of schooling in the United States. Educators, students, parents/guardians, and administrators collectively know that education needs to be executed differently than it was during the spring of 2020.

For the first quarter of the school year, I will be teaching in my classes in a 100% online environment. The decision to be online is relieving but there are a ton of uncertainties, as well. I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can about effective online teaching through professional development and personal reading.

I plan on sharing what I learn about teaching online and what is working for me in blog posts. Resources that I’ve already shared throughout the years are going to look different. My hope in sharing would be to help other educators, along with parents/guardians and students as we navigate the 2020-2021 school year.

Buckle up! The beginning of the school year will be here before we know it!
