I attended the DBI² Institute hosted by the Chippewa River Writing Project (CRWP) at Central Michigan University between Sunday, June 15 and Friday, June 19, 2026.
DBI² stands for Democracy Building Instruction through Document-Based Inquiries. The institute was led by Jeff Wilhelm and Jackie Miller of the Boise State Writing Project, along with Troy Hicks of CRWP.
The institute was the kick off training to a yearlong fellowship and was jam packed!
This group of thinking partners and friends rejuvenated my approach to curriculum, news literacy, dispositions of democracy, my professional network, and teaching.
I am very thankful for the opportunity!
