It has been a very long time since I have read a Goosebumps book.
In May, I went to a garage sale and a few first printings of a few Goosebumps books from the early 1990s. I’m a part-time reseller, so my intent for buying these Goosebumps books was to flip them on eBay for a profit. At fifty cents per book, I bought a few, along with a first printing of Cat in the Hat. Since then I sold one of the Goosebumps books, The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb (Goosebumps #5) for a 93% profit margin after fees and shipping.
Recently, I found more Goosebumps books for sale on Facebook Marketplace. I jumped at the opportunity to buy more to flip on eBay. While I was going through the books, I began to feel a bit of nostalgic energy as I remembered certain titles and characters.
I decided that while they are waiting to sell* that I would (re)read as many as I could, so Monster Blood happened to be the first one that I finished.
Monster Blood became R.L. Stine’s third book in the Goosebumps series. It’s gone on to have several sequels and appear in a few of the Goosebumps movies that have been made over the years.
I did not recall this book as I read it, so I believe it was my first read of it. Monster Blood was a quick read. I enjoyed R.L. Stine’s suspenseful chapter endings that led right into the next one. I did not see the ending coming either as to the creator of the Monster Blood, which I found refreshing.
