“You read so many books!” I hear this all the time based on my activity on my Goodreads account. The truth is I start a lot of books, but I also keep a busy schedule and rarely finish any. The piles of books that I’ve started and not finished is quite large.
I want to document and share the reality of my reading journey. This blog series aims to change that by holding me accountable to the books I’ve started, continued to read, kept in idle, abandoned, and finished.

Maus I: A Survivor’s Tale: My Father Bleeds History by Art Spiegelman
- My wife and I visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. this summer. This gut wrenching learning experience inspired me to want to read more books about the Holocaust and World War II this school year.
Twelve and a Half: Leveraging the Emotional Ingredients Necessary for Business Success by Gary Vaynerchuk
- I started reading Twelve and a Half while on vacation last month in Maryland. I am a huge fan of Gary Vee, so I’m looking forward to digesting his written content.
Unspeakable Acts: True Tales of Crime, Murder, Deceit, and Obsession by Sarah Weinman
- I’ve been looking for a different type of book to read. I purchased this one with North and have been working through the true crime articles.

- I’ve been disappointed with this book as of late. I thought it would be a page turner, but I’m struggling to get through it.

The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals by Michael Pollan
- I did not make progress with this book in August. Perhaps a recent TikTok trend about corn will inspire me to continue.
June and July included the same books. I’m happy to have a little more variety this month!
